WELCOME TO TEKNACOOL MARKETING Many others, like you, have found this website because they want more than getting someone to put up a site, they want to build a business. Let me explain: I began my Internet Marketing experience in September 2006 to satisfy my passion for computers and the IT Industry. I set out my journey with a mindset that said "I will run the race, fight the fight and complete the race." In other words I had no idea where I was headed nor how long it was going to take. I just knew I was going to satisfy my passion to learn new things. Three years later in early March 2009 I attended an Internet Marketing Seminar in Perth; Western Australia where I went with the aim of learning more about this thing known as Internet Marketing. I GOT MORE THAN I BARGAINED FOR The seminar was held in the city  by two of Australia's Top Internet Marketing Entreprenuers and these guys were such an inspiration they helped me refuel my passion of teaching others also. There were so many things one could take home as a result of their teaching and these are the things that stood out for me: They oozed with enthusiasm and inspired everyone. They shared from a huge amount of knowledge and experience. Their techniques or secrets were so simple yet very profound. They are very successful at their craft. They kept teaching us to tell the truth. They told us that anyone could be successful at this. And they reminded me of the fact that honesty, integrity and strong ethics are key ingredients to building a successful business. The most important thing about Internet Marketing is to please avoid GET-RICH-QUICK SCHEMES - Building a successful business takes time, effort and planning to achieve long term results.

BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL INTERNET BUSINESS Why settle for just another website or a blog when you can build a successful business? Good is the enemy of best. Too many local business owners have settled for old school websites which are really good for old school results and they don't know that they don't know these good sites do not deliver the desired results of targeted traffic and increased income level. In todays busy ever changing Web 2.0 environment good sites are replaced by the best sites. At the seminar I learned that so many business owners are missing out on so much revenue simply because they lack the necessary information to succeed. The crazy thing though is the information is so easily accessible. The mistake business owners make is they spend too much time working in their business rather than on their business.

WEB DESIGN IS NOT ENOUGH Take for example the WebDesign Specialist I met at the seminar. He was always a Senior Web Design Master who headed up teams of designers building websites for people from $5,000 to $50,000 and even more at times. He indicated to me that their craft meant building the websites owners were asking for and it was policy they gave the customer what they asked for. They also knew that it was the business owners responsibility to build his business and they simply provided a "Yellow Pages" or "Newspaper" type of website that only existing customers knew how to find them or by the stationary that had cost them $1,000's dollars to let people know they have a website. The missing component in his craft and many other webdesign companies is the fact that they knew how to build their clients a website but they lacked the knowledge required to helping people build a business. Sure they would support their efforts with terms like: SEO (Search Engine Optimimisation) strategies Meta Tags Animated Graphics Static or Dynamic Sites and so on.

WORK ON YOUR BUSINESS NOT IN IT In his book "The E-Myth" by Michael E. Gerber explains why most small businesses don't work and what to do about it. The amazing thing is he points out that most business owners work far more than they should for the return they are getting. This is true. Think about your business you own and operate right now. Do you work for your business or does it work for you?  Let me explain: Most people who set out to start their own business do so because they were really good at doing what they were doing at their job and decided to quit and go and work for a lunatic - themselves. Only to find out that they no longer have a job but they have a business that owns them. With all the extra work that goes with being a business owner they end up being slaves to their business which was supposed to "make them rich" and "give them freedom."
